Using SUPPORT with WINDOWS VISTA or Windows 7

IMPORTANT:  When installing in these versions of Windows, you may see the following path for installation:

C:\Program Files (x86)\SUP2003.

You MUST remove (delete) the (x86) from that path before continuing the installation.

The correct path for installation is:  C:\Program Files\SUP2003.

ALSO:  These versions of Windows default to thinking you are a common user without rights to all the files you need for running the SUPPORT program.  This is evidenced by the child support program asking you, repeatedly, for an OPEN Database file.  Solution:  You need to run this program as an administrator.

Here are the steps to change settings and solve this:

1)  Exit all programs

2) Go into "My Computer" by clicking Start and then "My Computer" or "Computer".

3) Then double-click on Drive C, then on Program Files, then on SUP2003.

4)  Find the SUPPORT.exe (application) file and right-click on it.

5)  Choose PROPERTIES, then click on Compatibility.

6)  Check the box for "Run as administrator" near the bottom.

7)  Close and test the program.

When the program starts, it may go "dark" and give you 3 options.  Choose "Allow" and the program will run.

(You can keep running it like this or... we can stop it from giving you this annoying warning by running the attached program, "tweakuac.exe".)
